Lauren specializes in pruning both weeping and upright varieties of Japanese maples and other small deciduous trees. This service is offered during the month of February and in early Fall.
Pruning these exquisite trees is both an art and a science. When done properly and maintained with care they can add not only beauty but additional value to your property.
We prune to remove dead, diseased and damaged wood, reduce congestion and improve airflow and light penetration, direct growth and structure, to improve shape and overall aesthetics. If you have a tree that is encroaching on a structure or getting too big for the space, we'd be happy to discuss options with you.
We can also help correct prior pruning that may have been done improperly. One of the worst mistakes one can make when pruning a Japanese maple is to attempt to reduce the size of the tree. Cutting branches in the middle or at the tips as you may have already discovered, will do the exact opposite of what you are attempting to achieve.
To receive a quote, please send an email to Lauren@linscott.info with a picture of the tree, an estimate of the size, and the variety and age if known.
